Ifa
says if it doesn't
matter where you are going any road will do. If you have direction
understanding where we have been is a valuable source of guidance.
Prior to 1930 universities in Europe and the United States taught
the idea that Western culture originated in Africa and spread
throughout the world. The evidence for this idea is compelling.
In 1930 the German Government ordered all the universities in
occupied territory to teach the idea that Western culture originated
in Greece because this idea was more consistent with Nazi dogma
related to German racial superiority. At the end of World War II
academia remained stuck in its desire to solidify ideas rooted in
political considerations. The history of this sad
chapter in the study of world culture has been well documented in an
out of print book called Black IsisI by Robert Burnal.
I
believe there
is and has been a deliberate distortion and suppression of the wisdom, spirituality
and science originating in Africa during ancient times. This deception
challeneges our understanding of self and world.
Ifa teaches that we cannot know
who we are if we do not know our ancestors going back seven
generations. If our understanding of our ancestors is
distorted by our understanding of history, true self appreciation is
not possible. The more we are
able to rise above the lies the more effective we become in taking
responsibility for the manifestation of our own personal, and communal
destiny. Ifa
teaches that everyone is born a good and blessed person with a
destiny to develope Iwa-pele.
Ifa
also teaches that everyone alive on the planet is the descent of a
single East Africa woman. This idea is supported by the
science of genetics. This section of the site is for articles that give us a
alternate view of history as a basis for consideration, and
contemplation.
