The word Ebora from the elision ebo ra means bring the offering. Ebora refers to the Orisa Esu, Osoosi and Ogun. These three Orisa working together have several functions fundamental to Ifa/Orisa spiritual discipline. Ebora have an essential role in making offerings to Spirit. The invocation of Ebora when making offerings to specific Orisa helps insure the effectiveness of our prayers. Ebora also have a function to protect the person from negative spiritual intrustion. Ebora are also the key to the IFa7Orisa concept of problem solving. Esu warns us of a problem,Osoosi shows us the shortest route to solving a problem and Ogun gives us the strength and courage to implement Osoosi’s vision. When a person receives these Orisa they can learn to communicate with the Ebora with either four cowries or obi abata. They can also learn how to make Adimu (cooked food) offerings. Copyright © 2009.
