COURSES

Awo Falokun Fatunmbi is creating an opportunity for you to study the sacred technology of  Ifá/Orisa in a week long intensive course taught to learn the fundamentals of traditional Yoruba awo.  The course is designed to give initiates the tools needed to create community and to provide the services that are expected of an Ifá/Orisa initiate in traditional Yoruba culture.  These skills include giving spiritual guidance through the use of divination as a problem solving tool, the ability to create sacred objects used as a focal point for prayer, skill in leading rights of passage such as naming ceremonies, puberty rites, marriages and initiations into the mysteries of Ifá/Orisa. The course stresses the importance of learning the metaphysical principles that are the hidden foundation of Odu Ifá/Orisa (Our sacred Scripture) and it encourages a traditional understanding of iwa pele or good character as the foundation for being an effective role mode and mentor.
The classes are based on the sacred technology used by Egbe Ifá in Ode Remo, located in the Ijebu region of Nigeria (Ogun State.)  Awo Falokun Fatunmbe has been fully trained by the Egbe during the course of six visits to Nigeria.  He has been given permission by the
Egbe
to work as an Awo and too teach the sacred technology of this lineage to those who want to embrace Ifá/Orisa  in its traditional form.
These classes can be scheduled in advance and arrangements can be made to conduct the classes in your local communities.  The cost of each course one is $1,500 US.  The cost includes a room and meals.  During the course we take a day to visit the pyramids in Teotihuacan to invoke altered states of consciousness in a place that facilitates that process. The course includes study material but we make the explanation that is indispensable to acquire the book package written by  Awo Falokun Fatunmbi since they are support for the complete study and understanding of our tradition.  Those who attend each course will receive a certificate of completion.  Those who have completed courses one and two will be eligible to take the advanced course in conducting Ifá/Orisa initiations.   If you are interested in having Awo Falokun come to your area to teach your entire community, this course can be modified to fit specific needs, and a course in fundamentals can be given to those who are not fully initiated.  For those who are interested contact us by e mail at: osomina@hotmail.com
