Iba

Humility brings honor. Iba ("EE-BAH") is a prayer of praise for those that were responsible for Creation. Again a beginning that can be used as a guide to connect.

"Iba Olodumare."
I respect the Creator of all existence.
"Iba Orunmila."
I respect the recorder of Odu.
"Iba Awo Akoda."
I respect the diviner Akoda, the first student of Ifa.
"Iba Aseda."
I respect the diviner Aseda, the second student of Ifa.
"Iba ejubona Mefa."
I respect all those who teach the ways of Ifa.
"Iba Agbongbon Oba Ile Ife."
I respect all the Chiefs of the sacred city.
"Iba Araba lotu Ife."
I respect the Diviners of the sacred city.
"Iba Olokun."
I respect the spirit of the Ocean.
"Iba Olosa."
I respect the spirit of the lagoon.

"Iba Aje-ogunguluso Olambo yey aiye."
I respect the spirits of the forest who come to the aid of the Mothers of the forest.
"Iba Ita Merindinlogun."

I respect the 16 principles of Creation.

"Iba Orun Oko."
I respect the Stone of Heaven.

"Iba okun oko."
I respect the strength of the stone.

"Iba Okiti awo oko."
I respect the mystery of the stone.

"Iba Ogon Imale Iju."
I respect the invisible spirits who are always present.

"Iba Baba."
I respect the Fathers.

"Iba Yeye."
I respect the Mothers.

"Iba Ori."
I respect the spirit of the head.

"Iba tototo Olodumare e mo juba."

I give total respect to the spirit of Creation and give humble thanks.

"Ki'ba me se ee Orun'Juba."
For all the blessings of Heaven,I give thanks.

"Ashe!"
